NeighborWorks Down Payment Assistance Program
Neighborworks is the leader in affordable housing and community redevelopment. They are a program that works to create opportunities of home ownership for lower-income people to live in safe, sustainable neighborhoods suitable for families.
NeighborWorks Salt Lake offers up to $2,500 in down payment assistance grants to first-time home buyers purchasing single-family homes in targeted neighborhoods within Salt Lake City.
Neighborworks also offers low-interest rate loans to first-time home buyers purchasing homes in targeted neighborhoods within Salt Lake City and Murray: 1700 South to the Salt Lake/Davis County line and I-15 to the Salt Lake International Airport and in Murray City.
Program Requirements
- Be a first-time home-buyer
- Have $1,000 minimum down payment (this can include earnest money and appraisal costs)
- Setup a meeting with a specified mortgage loan originator
- Attend a HUD-approved home buyer education class.
- The home must be owner occupied.
