South Jordan Real Estate

South Jordan

South Jordan Real Estate History

South Jordan was settled in 1859 by the Beckstead family, and remained a primarily rural farming community until about the 1980s. South Jordan has experienced exponential growth since the 1970s and has a current population of over 54,730 and is currently the fastest growing city in Utah. The development of Daybreak by Kennecott Land could potentially once again double South Jordan’s population.

South Jordan is an essentially residential community with people commuting for work. The extension of Bangerter Highway that was completed several years ago, as well as I15 on the Eastern border of the city, make commuting a breeze to anywhere in the valley. However, commuting will become even easier in coming years with the completion of the Mountain View Corridor (an eventual ten-lane freeway), and the completion of the TRAX Mid-Jordan line and a Frontrunner Station set to be completed in 2012. All of these transportation advancements are setting South Jordan up to be the ideal location for living in a nice suburban area with easy access to all that the Salt Lake Valley has to offer.
