West Jordan Down Payment Assistance Program

The City of West Jordan offers a Down  Payment Assistance Program to low and moderate income individuals and families wishing to purchase West Jordan real estate.

The program provides loans for half of the required down payment and one time closing costs for a combined total of $5,000. Home buyers are required to meet income requirements and live in the home for a period of five years. After the initial five year period the loan is forgiven and no repayment is due.

Program Requirements

• Only single family homes, condos, and town homes are eligible for consideration.
• Persons currently owning a property are not eligible for the program.
• All homes must be owner occupied after purchase for a period of 5 years.
• Co-signers are allowed.
• All applications will be subject to debt ratio reviews.
• All applicants must attend a Home buyers Class conducted by the Salt Lake Community Action Program and submit a certificate prior to closing.
• Home must be within West Jordan City limits.
• Application processing time is approximately thirty days from the date that all required information is received by the city.
• The applicant must provide 1/2 the down payment in order to be eligible for the City to match. Proof of the required match and source of funds must be submitted with application.
