We’ve been in our home for seven years next month. We love this house! In the past seven years, we’ve worked towards finishing the basement ourselves (all permitted and inspected), changing the flooring upstairs and adding it downstairs, plus we’ve relandscaped the whole yard. The sprinkler system is brand new and there’s finally room to run in the backyard.
One of the things that drew us to the home in the first place was the flagpole in the front yard. It makes the home feel a little more special. Sitting on the front porch during the early spring gives you a lovely view of the mountain, by to mention a great spot to sit and watch your kids play all year round. The neighborhood is fantastic. There are kids of all ages and plenty of neighbors willing to lend a hand if needed. Everyone watches each other’s backs, bringing packages in for each other if needed, or calling to check on whether a garage was supposed to be left open.
There is a drainage lot two lots down from this house that the neighborhood kids have dubbed “The Battlefield,” and they’ll go over to play soccer or fly kites or even sled during the winter. It really is a fantastic neighborhood, and we have easy access to everything. In between two freeway exits, it’s easy to get to either, depending on traffic, plus we have grocery stores nearby, including a new Walmart Neighborhood Market just across State Street from us. We’ve even gone on family walks over to Macey’s safety fairs and events.
The elementary school is only half a mile away and a number of neighborhood kids walk together, so kids can always find someone to walk with, plus there’s a park right behind the school. We love this neighborhood and are sad to go, but we know whoever gets this home will love it as much as we do!
