Lehi Real Estate
Lehi Real Estate History
Utah County’s northernmost community, now known as Lehi, was settled by Mormon Pioneers in 1850. The area had grown rapidly and by 1852 the several small communities in the area were incorporated into “Lehi City”. The city is named after a Book of Mormon Hebrew prophet. Lehi City experienced major growth in 1858 resulting from the establishment of the Utah Expeditionary Force at Camp Floyd, which was the largest military establishment in the USA at the time. The area experienced another boom in the 1890s when the Utah Sugar Company’s factory at Mulliner’s Mill Pond was established.
Lehi is a popular location today for both businesses and home buyers largely due to its convenient location between the two largest urban areas in the state. In recent years, thanks to the development of the Thanksgiving Point business park, major corporations like Xango, IM Flash, Adobe and Microsoft have and will continue to provide many employment opportunities in the area, suggesting that the city will continue to grow and support a healthy real estate market in the future.
